Pilots’ horrifying realization that the Boeing 757’s nose tire had fallen off on the Atlanta runway is captured on cockpit audio.

A Delta Air Lines Boeing 757 flying out of Atlanta lost its nose tire as it attempted to take off on Saturday

The tumultuous moment when pilots operating a Delta Air Lines Boeing 747 out of Atlanta removed its nose tire during take off is captured on cockpit recordings.

The nose wheel broke off the airplane just as it was about to take off on Saturday from Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport to Bogota, Colombia.

The most recent in a string of horrifying Boeing 757 nose wheel problems, the Delta Air Lines event has prompted condemnation from other airlines and a meeting between CEO Dave Calhoun and members of Congress.

“One of your nose tires came off,” the dispatcher says at the start of the clip. It simply rolled behind you off the runway.

In response, the Delta Pilot said, “Thanks for that.” It appears that we have a difficulty. If possible, we’ll attempt to taxi clear.

To aid in their inquiry, federal agents searched for the plane’s missing components for several days. Similarly, authorities directed that comparable aircraft be grounded until their investigation.

“Dispatch added, ‘The 75 on the runway just lost the nose tire.”

Yes, we did witness that tire roll southward off the runway. The second pilot commented, “Looks like it went off the runway, probably down the bank down there.

The aircraft is thirty-two years old and is not the same model as the 737 Max that has caused recent safety issues.

According to Delta, “all passengers and their belongings were evacuated from the aircraft, moved to the gate, and boarded a replacement aircraft.” “We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused our customers.”

The AP called Boeing on Wednesday, but the company declined to comment further. The Arlington, Virginia, airplane company halted production of the 757 about 20 years ago.
