The Braves added outfield depth by acquiring Martínez in exchange for Minor League right-handed pitcher Tyler Owens.
Martínez debuted with Texas last year, hitting one home run and having a.575 OPS in 44 plate appearances.
Last year, the 27-year-old left-handed-hitting Cuban outfielder posted a.961 OPS in 353 Triple-A plate appearances.
The Braves still need a right-handed-hitting outfielder to serve as their primary backup.

The team believes Sale can contribute on a regular basis to the starting rotation, which would be significant given that injuries limited him to just 11 starts in 2020-22.
“There is a health history, which I understand will be discussed,” Braves president of baseball operations Alex Anthopoulos said.
“But we think he’s a playoff-caliber starter, which is exactly what we were looking for this offseason. We’ll do everything we can to keep him on the mound.
Morton was unavailable during the National League Division Series; had the Braves advanced to the NL Championship Series, they believed he would be available.
The veteran experienced finger soreness with one out in the first inning of his September 22 start at Nationals Park. He did not return to start the second inning.
