In recent years, the Green Bay Packers have changed coaches several times.

Of course, the sacking of defensive coordinator Joe Barry was the biggest story this offseason.

This offseason, the Packers are overhauling their defensive coaching staff.

However, a few years ago, the Packers’ offensive coaching staff underwent some changes.

Former offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett was named head coach of the Denver Broncos, while former quarterbacks coach Luke Getsy joined the Bears as offensive coordinator.

Getsy recently accepted a new position in the west.

According to sources, the Raiders will select former Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Luke Getsy as their next offensive coordinator after Kliff Kingsbury turned down their offer.

According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, the two parties are now negotiating a contract.

Kingsbury was expected to secure the post in recent days, but he withdrew from negotiations on Saturday.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the former Arizona Cardinals head coach is the leading candidate to take over as offensive coordinator for Dan Quinn’s Washington Commanders.

Before being fired, Getsy was the Bears’ offensive coordinator for the previous two seasons.

During each of Getsy’s years as offensive coordinator, Chicago placed in the lowest half of the NFL in total yards and scoring, and quarterback Justin Fields was chastised for his lack of progress.

Previously, Getsy was the Green Bay Packers’ quarterbacks coach from 2019 to 2022.

Aaron Rodgers won back-to-back MVP awards at that time, and the Packers won 13 games in three consecutive seasons. It’ll be interesting to see what style of offense Luke Getsy runs in Las Vegas.
