The NCAA transfer portal has proven beneficial to the Texas Longhorns this summer. Texas has so far signed former Alabama wide receiver Isaiah Bond, former Houston wide receiver Matthew Golden, and former Alabama tight end Amari NiBlack, among others.

According to Sports Illustrated, Josh Pate recently stated on Late Kick that “Texas is rolling.”

Pate stated, “They got six of the eight kids as blue-chippers out of the portal.” They recruited three wide receivers, which was critical. AD Mitchell and Xavier Worthy are gone, and they’ve signed three receivers who will make an immediate impact.

He went on to say, “Now, they got to pan out…and as we have seen, portal acquisitions do not pan out as high a hit rate as traditional recruiting for obvious reasons, but Texas has been really good at this.”
