To no one’s surprise, Steve Sarkisian put an end to any speculation about the quarterback position on Wednesday, confirming that Quinn Ewers would start in 2024. Of course, shortly after that remark, unwarranted speculation about Arch Manning’s future arose on social media platforms.

And whether those “rumors” hold any weight (they don’t), Arch’s uncle Eli Manning tried his best t

He picked Texas because that’s where he wants to be,” Manning said in the interview. “That’s where he wants to play football.

He likes coach [Steve] Sarkisian and his offense and what they’re doing. He knew last year that he was gonna go, he was gonna redshirt, get some playing time.”

Manning himself stated ostensibly the same thing during Sugar Bowl interviews in late December Noting that he is simply focused on developing his game and getting ready for whenever his name is finally called.

Still, fuel was added to the internet fire when Ewers announced his return to the Longhorns for 2024 – a move that was widely expected from all parties involved. Including the Mannings.

Instead of seeing it as a slight, being irritated, or looking for an exit, Eli believes Ewers’ return will only allow Arch another year to improve and prepare for his time as QB1.

Obviously, I believe the intention was for [Quinn] Ewers to join the NFL, but he is already there.

Arch has another year to mature, learn the offense, gain size and strength in the weight room, and always be ready to play.

Manning is developing, gaining stronger, learning the system, and emerging as a locker room leader.

Steve Sarkisian is satisfied with his progresorylink=cpy.

“I believe Arch has an extremely bright future,” Sarkisian stated on Wednesday. “We are extremely fortunate to have him on our roster.

He’s got terrific leadership abilities and a great skill set, so they (Ewers and Manning) will be important for us next year.”
