The AFC South team is prioritizing offense with their 23rd overall pick, according to Jeremiah, who had the Houston Texans take Penn State edge rusher Chop Robinson in the first round in his 2024 NFL Mock Draft 1.0. Brian Thomas Jr., a great wide receiver for the LSU Tigers, was chosen by Houston in the 2024 NFL Mock Draft 2.0.
In Jeremiah’s 2024 NFL Mock Draft 2.0, Thomas Jr. was chosen as the fourth receiver overall in the first round. In Jeremiah’s updated mock, Rome Odunze of Washington, Marvin Harrison Jr. of Ohio State, and Malik Nabers of LSU were all taken ahead of Thomas Jr.
Brian Thomas Jr., a 2021 signing with the LSU Tigers, is rated as a four-star prospect by 247Sports. The product of Louisiana had 28 receptions for 359 yards and two touchdowns in his rookie season before repeating those numbers in his sophomore year. On the other hand, his output skyrocketed the previous year.
With 68 receptions, 1,177 yards, and 17 touchdowns, Thomas Jr. concluded the 2024 campaign. In terms of catches and receiving yards, the great wide receiver led the nation in receiving touchdowns and placed fourth in the SEC. The long six-foot-five receiver had six games with 100 yards or more in receiving, with a six-catch, 150-yard performance against the Florida Gators serving as the high point. He scored two goals.
