Finalization of the transaction will occur after Sneed clears his physical.

The market for defensive backs may shift if he signs a four-year contract.

The Chiefs assigned Sneed the non-exclusive franchise tag earlier this month.

He was then able to speak with other teams that might be able to work out a trade with Kansas City.
After Sneed played at an All-Pro level for the whole season and didn’t allow any touchdowns in 462 coverage snaps, the Titans decided to take action.

Sneed, who entered the league as a fourth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, had his greatest year to date in 2023.
Sneed covered the opposing team’s best receiver on at least 65 percent of the snaps seven times, an NFL record, according to Next Gen Stats.

When playing against Sneed, a receiver only caught more than two passes once.

In Week 12, superstar Davante Adams of the Las Vegas Raiders caught five passes for 73 yards on seven tries.
Sneed will be paired with seasoned cornerback Chidobe Awuzie in Tennessee.

At the beginning of free agency, Awuzie inked a three-year contract worth £27 million ($36 million).

The two will start outside together, with Roger McCreary as the nickel, and aim to defend against players in the AFC South like C.J. Stroud, Trevor Lawrence, and Anthony Richardson.
The cornerback’s signing by the Titans is their most recent move toward their goal of contending in 2024. Signing guard Saahdiq Charles and center Lloyd Cushenberry strengthened the offensive line for second-year quarterback Will Levis, according to general manager Ran Carthon.
Additionally, through free agency, Levis added running back Tony Pollard and receiver Calvin Ridley to their offensive arsenal.

With the addition of former Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Kenneth Murray, the Titans strengthened their defense even further.

Following the transaction, Sneed’s relocation to Tennessee will release £15 million ($19.8 million) from the Chiefs’ salary cap, just in time as the team prepares for an unprecedented third consecutive Super Bowl victory.
