For the next campaign, the Dallas Cowboys are expected to add an offensive lineman depth player.

Following the loss of standout left tackle Tyron Smith to the New York Jets in free agency last month, the Cowboys want assistance at offensive tackle.

This summer, the Cowboys have not said much in free agency.

Even though the squad openly said they were all in for the 2024 campaign, they made no attempt to express interest in dynamic playmakers such as Derrick Henry.

“All-in” refers, according to owner Jerry Jones, to retaining key players.

But he let Smith go in exchange for a better offer.

To fill in the gaps at running back and on the offensive line, the Cowboys will turn to the draft.

An important swing tackle from the previous campaign was added, who ought to aid a squad in transition. Chuma Edoga will be signed by the Cowboys to a one-year contract, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

With six starts in his first season, swing tackle can play guard or tackle for the Cowboys, giving them options going forward.
Edoga made six starts for the Cowboys in the previous campaign.
The Jets picked Edoga with their third-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Prior to joining the Cowboys in 2023, he was a player for the Atlanta Falcons in 2022.

Edoga’s performance from the previous season was graded 61.4 by Pro Football Focus. He played 101 snaps at left guard and 312 snaps at left tackle (he saw six snaps as a tight end).

Edoga blocked 251 passes, giving up three sacks. He was fined three times.

With the Cowboys past season, he started six games. Throughout his NFL career, he has made 12 starts.

An offensive line that intends to rearrange some parts this summer will benefit from his consistency.

It’s anticipated that the Cowboys will look at switching Tyler Smith to left tackle.

The loss of Tyler Biadasz to the Washington Commanders means that the club also needs assistance on the inside offensive line.
