The three most important 2025 Oklahoma football recruiting targets set for official visits this week.
Brent Venables already has a strong 2025 class with 15 pledges, but the summer official visit cycle will help him complete his third full class at Oklahoma.
While several colleges have already had significant groups of high school prospects on campus for official visits, the Oklahoma Sooners will host their first big visit this weekend, with eight high school players visiting on Friday and Saturday. Despite a delayed start to summer visits, Brent Venables has already done well in recruiting the 2025 class, which has 15 commitments and is rated fourth in the country.
Building a national title contender is difficult enough, but Venables and his staff will have even greater challenges in the SEC this season. He and offensive coordinator Seth Littrell are entrusted with building an offense around Jackson Arnold in his first season as starter. This summer, they began rebuilding the offensive line through the transfer portal, and although those five experienced acquisitions may assist in the near run, quality O-linemen remain a top focus in high school recruitment.
The Sooners do not have an exceptional wide receiver room, but to flourish in the SEC, they need to be strong in the trenches, thus these three prospects are the most important for Venables and his staff to land following their official visits this.
DL. 464. player. 6’3″ 315 lbs. . . 3-star. Floyd Boucard. Floyd Boucard. Floyd Boucard
Boucard is currently rated a three-star by 247Sports, but given that the Miami graduate is being extensively targeted by Oklahoma, Alabama, Miami, and USC, that ranking is expected to alter soon.
Boucard, originally from Canada, grew up playing hockey and has tremendous potential in his 6-foot-3, 315-pound physique. He is unlikely to have an immediate impact in Norman, but Venables is still working to improve his pass rush, and putting an agile guy like Boucard in the interior would aid the development of young edge rushers like Adepoju Adebawore, who will be a junior in 2025.
The loss of Tyler Guyton, Walter Rouse, and Andrew Raym to the NFL this summer was a major blow to Oklahoma’s offensive line, and the Sooners will have at least three new starters in front of Arnold this season. Activity in the transfer site frequently reveals a coach’s thoughts about his roster, and Venables’ tenacity in the trenches was telling.
Haywood will still need to gain some weight to compete at offensive tackle in the SEC, but his mobility abilities and long arms allow him a lot of room for growth once he arrives on campus. Haywood has received interest from a number of top programs and will visit TCU, UCLA, Alabama, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Florida State this summer.
Like Haywood, Fasusi projects as a starting tackle for multiple seasons and is being recruited heavily by some of the best programs in the country. Fasusi has already visited LSU, Missouri, and Texas A&M and after his stop in Norman is heading to Austin. There are plenty of other SEC teams in the mix, but most of all, Venables can’t afford to let Fasusi play on the other side in future Red River Rivalry games.
