Former teammate of Tom Brady accuses him of lying when compared to Patrick Mahomes

Christian Fauria doesn’t think some of Brady’s latest remarks hold up.

Tom Brady, widely regarded as the best quarterback in football history, was noted for his energy and never-say-die attitude on the field.

The New England Patriots selected the San Mateo native in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft, and he maintained the same competitive mentality that propelled him from backup to NFL superstar throughout his career.

Brady claimed during a recent appearance on ‘The Pivot Podcast’ that he used to be jubilant while playing, similar to Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes, but that it eventually faded.

Former teammate disagrees

While Brady may remember his career in this manner, former teammate Christian Fauria has a different perspective.

Fauria claimed during an appearance on ‘WEEI Boston Sports Original’ that Brady was always competitive. In fact, he stated Brady was lying when he said he wished he could go back and do things differently, just like Mahomes does all the time.

“I think Brady is a liar,” Fauria added, chuckling. “When I heard that, I thought, ‘Who’s he kidding? He cannot change. He cannot downshift. This is not who he is. “He isn’t wired like Mahomes.”

Fauria went on to say that he always saw Brady as someone who came to the field with a purpose, rather than someone who was just having fun with football.

Fauria and Brady won two Super Bowls, XXXVIII and XXXIX, during Tom’s early career in the NFL.

The former tight end claimed that while Brady experienced moments of joy, they never occurred during games since his style of play required meticulous preparation.

“I’ve seen him have a great time; I’ve heard him laugh and joke around,” replied Fauria. “But in the game, you could see it when he made certain passes, won a game, or gained a first down.

“He’s overjoyed, celebrating like a little kid, but the truth is he’s wired so differently from Mahomes. “Everything about him is different.”
